What causes hashimoto's autoimmune disease

How do I reversed my autoimmune disease? It primarily affects middle-aged women but can also occur in men and women of any age and in children. Much like other autoimmune diseases, Hashimoto’s may be triggered by a number of parasitic, yeast and fungal bacterial infections that start in the gastrointestinal tract. A person does not necessarily have to experience symptoms to be affected by these types of stomach bacteria.

The symptoms and signs are slowly progressive and may develop over years.

Some of the signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism are numerous and may more or less increase in severity as the disease. Scientists don’t know why this happens but believe genetics play a role. With this disease, your immune system attacks your thyroid.

The thyroid becomes damaged and can’t make enough thyroid hormones. That means it is caused by a malfunction in your immune system. Instead of protecting your thyroid tissue, your immune cells attack it.

These immune cells can cause hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), a goiter (enlarged thyroid), or both.

Eventually, the thyroiditis process can even destroy your entire thyroi if left undetected or untreated. Gluten sensitivity and Celiac disease have been implicated in various autoimmune conditions ranging from Hashimoto’s, Graves’ disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Hypothyroidism may be due to a number of factors, including: Autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disorders occur when your immune system produces antibodies that attack your own tissues. Sometimes this process involves your thyroid gland.

Normally, the immune system protects the body against infections caused by bacteria, viruses, and other harmful substances. It can cause a goiter, or enlarged thyroi which can make the front of the neck look swollen. Anything that can decrease gut motility may lead to SIBO such as gut surgeries, inflammation, metabolic issues, endocrine diseases,. Anemia can occur due to a low thyroid hormone level and could possibly correct itself when the hypothyroidism is adequately treated.

What is an Autoimmune Disease? Autoimmune diseases occur when the body’s immune system misinterprets your own healthy cells as foreign cells and attacks them. This article gives an explanation of each of the possible causes of hypothyroidism. An autoimmune disease is a condition in which your immune system attacks your body. Common autoimmune diseases include type diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease.

This thyroid disease causes the body’s immune system to attack your thyroid glan leading to inflammation, and subsequently an underactive thyroid. It is an autoimmune disease , which means that the body inappropriately attacks the thyroid gland - as if it was foreign tissue.

The underlying cause of the autoimmune process remains unknown. But infections are really a major, major cause and a major overlooked factor in autoimmune disease. So the Epstein-Barr virus is probably the most common infection that causes Hashimoto’s thyroid disease.

Hashimoto’s Disease is where the immune system creates antibodies that attack the thyroid. Therefore, the immune system, which should protect against infections, attacks the thyroid. It makes the thyroid inflamed. Over time, this inflammation reduces production of thyroid hormones.

The most common symptoms include the following: fatigue , weight gain, pale or puffy face, feeling col joint and muscle pain , constipation , dry and thinning hair, heavy menstrual flow or irregular periods , depression , panic disorder , a slowed heart rate , and problems getting pregnant and maintaining pregnancy. This means that our immune system begins to recognize the thyroid gland as a foreign invader and begins to attack it, eventually leading to a destruction of thyroid tissue. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disorder, so the main risk factor for developing this disease is having a pre-existing autoimmune disorder.
