What began nearly ten years ago as actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s weekly newsletter of various rich-people frivolities has morphed into a full-fledged lifestyle and “wellness” empire, doling out dubious health advice, selling $10vibrators, and generally enraging scientists and people who aren’t a part of the one percent. One Goop article recommends products made with intention — in other words, creams and cleansers that have been chanted to, prayed to, or meditated over by the people who make them. The idea is that intention gets infused into the products and makes them somehow better. Goop does acknowledge that the egg and Kegel exercises are not the same thing.

Goop is a corporate charlatan, and all evidence suggests that Paltrow is at best willfully ignorant and at worst a charlatan herself. Then she poached someone or many someones from the worst of the supplement peddlers, many of whom are multimillionaires (see: the very dangerous Joe Mercola, Sears, and others who have faced FDA reprimands) from selling absolute trash. Gwyneth Paltrow I know it sells a bunch of products I know it gives a lot of expensive but like I do always find advice goop has a reputation of being extremely expensive almost unnecessarily I am very cynical and still like I can myself like curious about it never really get.
