World immunization week 2019

It aims to highlight the collective action needed to ensure that every person is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. We celebrate the power of vaccines to save lives and honor those heroes who have risked and lost their lives while working to promote and deliver vaccines to protect the most. It takes place each year during last week of April. The week aims to promote the use of vaccines to protect people against various diseases.


The main goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about the critical importance of full immunization throughout life.

The day is celebrated on the last week of April every year (24th – 30th). Its aim is to create awareness on the importance of vaccination and the need for getting timely vaccination against infections that are preventable through vaccines. Its aim is to promote immunisation and its role as one of the most successful and cost-effective health interventions in the world.
