The two types of immunity in humans are

The following points highlight the three main types of immunity present in humans. Acquired (Specific or Adaptive) Immunity 3. Innate ( Natural or Nonspecific ) Immunity 2. Active and Passive Immunity. Passive immunity occurs when we are protected from a pathogen by immunity gained from someone else.


This is the immunity present from birth of an individual or animal.

This sounds similar to adaptive immunity. The active immunity involves two types of white blood cells - T-cells and B-cells. There are two types: passive and active.


Dendritic cells , after they have eaten and digested the pathogen,. It is divided into two types: (a) Non-Specific innate immunity , a degree of resistance to all infections in general. In many species, there are two major subsystems of the immune systethe innate immune system and the adaptive immune system.

Adaptive immunity is not passed from the parents to offspring, hence it cannot be inherited. These cells are activated on their encounter with foreign agents.


They develop in the bone marrow. These foreign particles act as foreign markers. Anything that weakens your immune system can lead to a secondary immunodeficiency disorder. Immunodeficiency disorders prevent your body from fighting infections and diseases.
