How to support those living with dementia? Where to find a support group for dementia? Should a person with dementia be told they have dementia? What is important to people with dementia? Following a loved one’s dementia diagnosis , life for the family and the caregiver can be extremely stressful, confusing, and frightening.

Local programs and services include face-to-face support groups and educational programs, with many geared toward informing and empowering individuals in the early stage. Most programs are offered free of charge, and many are available in multiple languages. Our newest service provides one-on-one consultations to help people understand the illness and its progression, identify resources and help people link to services in our community, provide support and counseling, and be an ongoing resource through the course of the illness. Alzheimer’s Idaho is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality client-centered services for those affected with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Dementia Support is based in Tangmere, near Chichester. We are an organization of volunteers, family and friends of persons affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia -related illnesses. The team consists of two senior dementia practitioners and six dementia support workers and is aligned with the five health clusters in Swansea.
