When it comes to trauma and memory loss , there are different types of trauma that can cause temporary or permanent problems.
Physical Trauma and Memory Loss Physical trauma can greatly affect your memory , especially if brain damage occurs as a result of the injury. While working to calm and organize memories of trauma , individuals with PTSD may also struggle to recall simple, everyday information. Whenever a part of your brain is affected by trauma , the chance that permanent damage has occurred is not often overlooked. You may have heard of someone losing short-term memory after a concussion, or someone suffering amnesia after an accident.
