Vaxelis

VAXELIS is a vaccine indicated for active immunization to prevent diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, hepatitis B, and invasive disease due to Haemophilus influenzae (H. influenzae) type b. The use of Vaxelis should be in accordance with official recommendations. The first dose may be given as early as weeks of age. Three doses of VAXELIS constitute a primary immunization course against diphtheria, tetanus, H. VAXELIS may be used to complete the hepatitis B immunization. Vaxelis must not be used in children who have ever had an allergic reaction to Vaxelis or a vaccine containing the same components, including substances used during the manufacture of the vaccine and which may be found at extremely low levels (such as the antibiotics neomycin or streptomycin). Food and Drug Administration approved a new 6-vaccine that is supposed to prevent against six illnesses.

Sanofi, the maker of what is being called Vaxelis , partnered with pharmaceutical giant Merck on the pediatric super-vaccine. Vaxelis is intended for children 6-months to 4-years in age. Sure enough, Teresa Conrick is not at all happy that Vaxelis was approved by the FDA. Just get a load of how she frames it: It was a Friday, four days before Christmas, when the FDA sent out an approval letter to Sanofi about their VAXELIS , a SIX-in-ONE vaccine.

It is the brainchild of a joint-partnership between Sanofi and Merck. Who should not get vaccinated? What is Infanrix vaccine? Which vaccines are live?

A three-dose series of Vaxelis does not constitute a primary immunization series against pertussis, and an additional dose of pertussis-containing vaccine is needed to complete the primary series. VAXELIS is approved for use as a 3-dose series in children weeks through years of age (prior to the 5th birthday). The vial stopper is not made with natural rubber latex.

VAXELIS should be stored at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Product which has been exposed to freezing should not be used. Vaxelis will only help to prevent these diseases caused by the bacteria andviruses targeted by the vaccine.

Vaxelis does not protect your child against diseases caused by other bacteria and virusesthat may cause similar symptoms. The three-dose immunization series consists of a 0. Coming up tomorrow will be votes on flu, hepatitis A, and meningococcal B vaccines. VAXELIS is the first hexavalent (six vaccines in one) drug to be approved in the U. In their first year of life, children routinely receive over vaccines, some administered just hours after birth.

Branded formulations have included Hexavac, Hexaxim, Hexyon, and Vaxelis manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur, and EasySix manufactured by Panacea Biotec. Additional ingredients in each 0. VAXELIS includes 3mcg of aluminum salts as the adjuvant, 0. Indication for Vaxelis. The new vaccine was developed to vaccinate children aged weeks to years old to protect them against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type B (also known as Hib). The goal is to give three doses to infants and children between just six weeks old and four years of age. Merck and Sanofi have teamed up to produce a 6-in-combo vaccine to market in the US.

Despite the death of six infants in clinical trials and other evidence of dangerous side effects, the FDA has given the thumbs-up for this combo vaccine. A vaccination reminder will prompt you when vaccines are upcoming. Have your vaccine records at hand.

Vaxini is the vaccination app for a lifetime.
