Chicken pox like rash

Why does chicken pox cause a rash? What do chicken pox look like when they start? What are the dangers of chickenpox? What is the remedy for chicken pox?


Chickenpox often causes a mild flu-like illness that includes a fever, headache, body aches and poor appetite.

Adults are often hardest hit, while young children may have minimal or no symptoms beyond a rash. Prodromal symptoms consist of low-grade fever , headache, anorexia, and malaise. On the following day, the characteristic rash begins. Chickenpox is a highly contagious infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV).

At first, it looks like usual red spots of small size and round shape.


The early stage of chickenpox appears for the first time on the head and in the abdomen. Later, the spots turn into chicken pox pustules (pictures below). Common Rashes That Occur Alongside Blisters Chickenpox. Shingles (herpes zoster) is a painful rash caused by reactivation. Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, or Poison Sumac.


Rhus dermatitis is caused by exposure to an oily chemical. The classic symptom of chickenpox is a rash that turns into itchy, fluid-filled blisters that eventually turn into scabs. The rash may first show up on the chest, back, and face, and then spread over the entire body, including inside the mouth, eyelids, or genital area. The bumps are usually all over the body and itch like crazy. You also feel like you do when you have a cold or flu–you.


The second stage of chicken pox is known as the blisters which comes after the first stage of rash , these small rashes or bumps later convert into the blister after a one or two days of first appearance which are completely filled up with a fluid under the thin covering of skin. Started on my torso but is spreading onto my limbs.

No relief from benadryl tablets or topical anti-allergens. Had a sore throat with swollen glands almost two weeks ago. I have been very tired and have had a dull headache since the rash started three days ago, no fever though. Chickenpox, also known as varicella, is a highly contagious disease caused by the initial infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV). The disease in a characteristic skin rash that forms small, itchy blisters, which eventually scab over.


It usually starts on the chest, back, and face. If vaccinated kids do develop the illness, symptoms are usually milder than normal. When ds eczema flares up it sometimes gets infected and he ends up with what look like chicken pox spots all over him, even on the clear skin.


The shingles rash is associated with an inflammation of nerves beneath the skin. Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you recover from chickenpox, the virus can enter your nervous system and lie dormant for years.
