Depakote (active ingredient – divalproex sodium) is a medication used to prevent migraine headaches and to treat manic episodes related to bipolar disorder. As I sai it works differently. When I take Depakote and Seroquel its not as powerful. My daughter takes both meds, depakote 2x a day (500gm) and 1mg of Seroquel once a day. I recently started Seroquel , and I am struggling with its effects. I take a 1mg dose before bedtime and am still dragging in the morning. So maybe we need to tweek some more. I was on lamictal for months and I finally felt like my old self for the first time in at least years.
However, I also lost a third of my hair, my nails stopped growing and I started to develop cysts and rashes all over my body! Had to stop it and now am about to try latuda. I have tried Abilify, Seroquel , Depakote and Lamictal.
