Having memory problems

How to help memory problems? Why do people have memory problems? What can cause memory problems? Does my computer have a memory problem?


An underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) can result in forgetfulness and other thinking problems.

A tumor or infection in the brain can cause memory problems or other dementia-like symptoms. Memory-retrieval problems can range from “tip-of-the-tongue” struggles, to an inability to describe a missing word or thought, to amnesia, or complete inability to access information. Mild memory problems can also develop gradually after silent strokes that affect smaller blood vessels. These changes in brain function, which can range from mild to severe, are called vascular. The persistence of memories of traumatic events, negative feelings, and ongoing fears is another form of memory problem.


Some of these memories accurately reflect horrifying events, while others may be negative distortions of reality. People suffering from depression are particularly prone to having persistent, disturbing memories. So are people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Other possible causes of memory loss include an underactive or overactive thyroid gland and infections such as HIV, tuberculosis, and syphilis that affect the brain. Other causes for memory problems can include aging, medical conditions , emotional problems , mild cognitive impairment , or another type of dementia. Age-Related Changes in Memory Forgetfulness can be a normal part of aging. If it gets bad enough, you may be worried that you’re headed for dementia or Alzheimer’s.


But memory problems can happen at any age an in fact, are usually more a result of lifestyle habits than age-related mental decline. Stress affects the way. They may stop in the middle of a conversation and have no idea how to continue or they may repeat themselves. They may struggle with vocabulary, have trouble naming a familiar object or use the wrong name (e.g., calling a watch a hand-clock).

I am youn but I have had for a few years now memory problems. I forget what people tell me sometimes not minutes have passed and I totally forget. I often have problems full filling a task quickly because I start doing 2-things one after the other without finishing NONE.
